Act 3 Scene 6 King Lear

I think this is one of my favorite scenes. I love the relationship between Lear and "Tom"!! And Tom and The Fool are so funny! It cracked me up when lear wanted to have the trial. That was just great. Just great. And Tom's awesome. I want them to be best friends. I feel bad that Lear is losing his mind though, but that's part of what makes this scene so good! It's nice to see that Tom learns something after seeing Lear go through this as well. That he's not the only one with problems, and that people of even more importance than him have the same-if not bigger-problems too.When we our betters see bearing our woes,/We scarcely think our miseries our foes./Who alone suffers, suffers most i' th' mind/Leaving free things and happy shows behind./But then the mind much sufferance doth o'erski/When grief hath mates and bearing fellowship./How light and portable my pain seems now/When that which makes me bend makes the king bow./He childed as I fathered. Tom, away!/Mark the high noises and thyself bewray/When false opinion, whose wrong thought defiles thee,/In thy just proof repeals and reconciles thee./What will hap more tonight, safe ’scape the king!

/Lurk, lurk. I'm glad he realizes this. I can't wait to see what happens when he reveals himself later on. I really want Tom and Lear to be best friends, even if Tom isn't really crazy and Lear is. Also, Tom is AWESOME for being able to act out of his mind so well. great scene, just great.

Nectar in a Sieve Part 2

I did not like how this story ended. I mean, come on! She loses a child, her sons leave her, her daughter becomes a prostitute and has an albino baby, her husband CHEATS ON HER (that really ticked me off), and to top it all of they get kicked off the land they were living on because they couldn't make enough money. I mean, come on! And then they have to pack up and go find their son just to have to head back home. However, I liked that they find their daughter-in-law and grandson and how Puli shows them around and helps them to make a little money breaking rocks. Rukmani's life however seemed pretty sucky.

Nectar in a Sieve Part 1

I really enjoyed how it started off telling about Rukmani's marriage. How she was stuck marrying someone poor because she was one of the youngest and her parents had used up their dowry on her older sisters. I liked that in the beginning when she first saw her husbands house she was sad and disappointed but when she found out he made it just for her her outlook completely changed. It was cool that she couldn't get pregnant right away and then when she did she had this beautiful baby girl. I also really liked the doctor but found alot that had to deal with him confusing. I think I'm missing something in that area...

Cry, The Beloved Country Part 2

So, even though Gertrude ran off, Stephens son is getting hanged, and his brother's still a stupidhead, things seem to have ended pretty well. Stephen made it home, is welcomed back, and overall things end on a good note. I like how Jarvis doesnt go all crazy on him for the death of his son, because I was expecting that. It was really awesome too how the little boy would come to visit him and how Jarvis would suppply the milk, help rebuild the chuch, and make the land better for farming at such. For being such a gloomy story basically throughout the entire book, the  ending was a pretty happy one.

Cry, The Beloved Country Part 1

So i went into this book thinking it would be a terrible waste of my time and that there would be no way i could get it done in the amount of time that i wanted to. However, that thought proved to be false. Right off the bat i was like okay okay, ive had enough of the scenery lets get on with it, and it did. I felt really bad that all Stephen's family had left him for some bad city and now he had to go help out his sister and look for his brother and son while hes at it. Even though not once has he heard from them since theyve gone. And what happens when he gets there? Things seem to pretty much go downhill. His sisters a prostitute, his sons who knows where, and his brothers a stupidhead. I really feel bad for Stephen. Now hes got way more on his plate to deal with than he really needs.

The Catcher in the Rye Part 2

I did not like how this story ended. Well, okay, i liked it, i just wish it didnt end that way. I mean what happens next? It just sort of stopped, like Salinger decided he was tired of writing. I really like how there were instances that i felt i could relate to, and how Holden's character was so far from the usual. It made for a very interesting story. I really enjoyed how he was really close with Phoebe too, and what a bond they seemed to have. One specific thing Holden said really got to me: "Certain things they should stay the way they are. You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone. I know that's impossible, but it's too bad anyway." I totally agree with this, and wish it were possible too. I'd like to think that Holden got his life figured out and mde it in the world.

The Things They Carried Part 2

This was one of my favorite books that i chose to read, i really enjoyed it. It started out really slow but then i got into it. I really liked how it talked about his time in Canada that he spent with the cabin owner, how he did work for him and how the cabin owner didnt bother in bugging him about why he was there and what was wrong. I also really enjoyed the part when on of the guys brought his girlfriend over and she did a complete 180. I did not like however how she starting hanging out with the Green Berets. My favorite characters were Curt Lemon and especially Rat Kiley. I didnt like Rat at first, but as i got to know more about him he became one of my favorites. My favorite part of the book however, that topped everything else, was the end; When Tim talks about his first love and how he was really in love and how she wore the hat and got made fun of and how he still sees her sometimes. That was my favorite because it was just a nice ending to the story and i really like the impact she had on him.
